Accessing poetry through art-making
We are excited to announce a new kind of writing and art workshop collaboration involving collage, poetry, and an investigation of the writing process and ourselves. This hands-on art and poetry workshop will be led by Sarah Eggers, a poet, painter, and art therapist. In her work, she examines how we might access the hidden, important parts of ourselves through art and poetry. Since we think in images, and have access to images before we ever acquire language, how might we apply this notion to our writing and art? How might we dig deep and excavate significant images in order to express ourselves truthfully? How might these pictures inform our words?
Don’t miss this innovative and fun workshop where we’ll get a little messy with glue and line breaks in a series of art-making and poetry exercises. Join us as we tap into our inner artists, poets, and philosophers in a safe and productive setting. No requirements or experience necessary. All are welcome.
