and seminars throughout the Los Angeles area, with an aim toward getting words on the
page and providing a safe place for writers to exchange feedback on works in

is a writing community where you can get free online
writing assignments / writing prompts / make new writing contacts and friends.
You can sign up for our Los Angeles
based writers group, where we meet in person, by

:: Who are your
Moderators and how do you pick them? ::
All our Moderator Bio's
are listed on the
Moderator's page. We chose our moderators based on writing
background, the ability to provide constructive criticism across multiple
genre's, location, and general understanding of the supportiveness required
in a writer's workshop or writer's group setting.
:: What's this I hear
about getting writing jobs? ::
Many people looking for
writers to hire find our site and send us job requests. 99% of the
jobs are paid gigs. We send these jobs out to our mailing list for
free. If you want to receive the job notifications, simply
join our mailing list. We've helped companies like Sony, Oakwood
Worldwide, lots of dot com companies, and independent people find writers.
:: I need to hire a
writer. What do I do? ::
Fill out our online
form. Right now our service is
free
to the job poster. We will contact you within 24 hours and let you
know if we will send the job to our writers. We have hundreds of
writers on our list, and every single one of them will receive your job
posting in their email inbox. We are more apt to post your job if you
are paying the writer. Writers need to eat and pay rent too.
Please respect that.
:: How can I participate
in the writers group if I don't live in Los Angeles? ::
Join our mailing list.
You will then receive instructions on how to join our yahoo email group.
We send out
writing
prompts /
writing exercises to the
group. SET ASIDE AT LEAST
ONE HOUR TO WRITE before you check the exercises. It's important not to ponder the
assignments before you write!
:: How can I join the
actual writers group if I
live in Los Angeles? ::
Find a group and
fill out our sign-up form if we are in
between groups, fill it out anyway because space is limited and this way we
can reserve a spot for you. When we have open
spots, we'll contact you. Be sure to join our mailing
list as well.
:: How does the
actual writers group work? ::
We meet once a week for eight week sessions in Los Angeles.
We run several groups in the Los Angeles area and currently, a group in New
York. During each group
meeting we do three in class
writing assignments, give you the opportunity to read
what you wrote, and then critique any writing that anyone brings wishes to bring in for us.
We are open to writers of all levels and genres. The beauty of our
groups is that it works for eveyrone.
:: What's so great about
being in a writing group?

The point of joining is to create
new material. Hence our tagline, Fill Your Notebook. It's
also nice to be able to bring in work-in-progress and get feedback from
other writers.
:: Why should I join
the online e-mail writing group?

If you don't live in Los
Angeles, or if you do live in LA and want to digitally interact with other
writers, get free creative writing prompts, then the online group is for
you. This group was created specifically to allow writers to
interact with one through e-mail.
:: Who can join?

Any creative writer, anywhere,
novices and experts alike can join our groups, unless they are specifically
noted to be for a specific genre or writing level.
:: What's this I hear
about the Mentorship Program and Advanced Workshop for Writers?
::
In the Fall of 2007 we've
started a Mentorship Program where we connect writers who have reached the
first draft stage of a fiction or non-fiction book project with published
writers who run advanced workshops to help the writers take their work to
the next level. To apply, see our

policy?

Please note that since
we have limited space in each group, and because we hold your spot and do
not give the spot to anyone else once you've paid, we do not give refunds
after one week (7 days) prior to the start date of the writers group you
have signed up for. If you wish to withdraw from the group, please notify
us prior to one week before the start of your group.
If you are signing up
less than one week before the start of the group, then your group fee is
non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding.
