Playwriting Group Leader
Instructor R.J. “Bob” Colleary is from New Jersey and possesses that “East Coast Attitude” people talk about but can never quite define. He started out as a sitcom writer, where he worked on TV staffs 20 straight years on shows such as BENSON, VALERIE, THE FACTS OF LIFE, SAVED BY THE BELL, NIGHT COURT, HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, GOLDEN GIRLS, and STEP BY STEP before shifting over to drama for nine seasons of TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL. Colleary is our playwriting workshop instructor
After an unfunny stint teaching comedy writing to grad students at Chapman University and a happily unsucky experience writing a book called Teenagers Suck, he moved into the local theatre world, where has had five plays produced in the past five years: PUBLICTYVILLE (2009), CANNIBALS (2010), ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION (2011), DEATH BECOMES US (2012), and HAPPY FACE SAD FACE (2013).
He has had all his shots.
